About
Dr. Adrienne (Isobel) Rosenthal brings a background in the humanities to her work as a board-certified psychiatrist. Her clinical work in her private practice draws on both psychodynamic and cognitive therapy. She comes from a family of mental health clinicians, and believes in the importance of mindfulness and physical exercise in addition to psychiatric treatment. Dr. Rosenthal feels incredibly lucky to be a psychiatrist and to explore with her patients their inner worlds.
Dr. Rosenthal is a graduate of Yale College, where her senior thesis won the top prize in American History. She received her medical education at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital, where she was accepted through the Humanities and Medicine track, a specialized competitive acceptance for students with a background in the humanities and arts. She went on to receive her MBA from Columbia Business School, where she focused on the intersection between psychiatry and technology. She completed her residency in adult psychiatry at Mount Sinai Hospital. Believing that training in the full lifespan of her patients would allow her to help them the most, Dr. Rosenthal completed a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship at New York Presbyterian Hospital (Columbia and Cornell). She was selected as one of two fellows in the public track, spending time as a psychiatrist in New York City public schools.
Dr. Rosenthal is a past winner of the American Psychiatric Association Innovation Prize, an American Psychiatric Leadership Fellow, and a Group for Advancement of Psychiatry Fellow.
Along with her clinical practice, Dr. Rosenthal is an entrepreneur, and a frequent contributor to the public press. Her writing has been published in Vogue, The Washington Post, Scientific American, and Psychology Today.
